Actively supported by the Municipality of Toulouse, Tisséo-SMTC organises from the 18th to the 20th of May 2011, the 15th edition of the European Conference on Mobility Management (ECOMM). In the Congress Center Pierre Baudis, the participants would benefit from high level exchanges on the last European and international developments in the field of Mobility Management by attending the workshops, plenary sessions and technical visits which will be organised all along those conference days.

Central theme
For this ECOMM edition, the central thematic will deal with Economic Recession: A New Dawn for Mobility Management.

The economic recession has been impacting all the business activities in a drastic way since 2008. Mobility and Mobility Management haven’t been spared by this global situation: important projects have been postponed or aborted due to budget restrictions. These cuts tend to hit Mobility Management even harder as innovations are more difficult to defend. However, Mobility Management is a highly relevant solution to address mobility issues; its costs are much lower than transport infrastructure and its implementation can be very quick and efficient.

The global economic crisis should be seen as an opportunity. If Mobility Management is put to action in the right way, its benefits quickly become evident. This is especially important in a rapidly changing world characterised by trends such as rising oil prices, globalisation, and the internet revolution. Does this represent a New Dawn for Mobility Management?
